This is an on-going learning process for me. Up to now, my focus has been basically finding shape and developing tonal values. I have been known to jump at the canvas' with paint in hand and let the painting develop itself (so-to-speak). I am now attempting to start the process with more developed ideas. Ideas towards motivation and reason. I am also currently experimenting with expanding to other elements (off the canvas). My paintings are far from perfect. I hang them on my walls and occasionally see things about them that I want to correct. They are not like the Industrial printed copies that look so beautiful in Target or TJMAX - that are conveniently cheap. I love the way those look, but I hate how they kill the art market. Please encourage your family and friends - not to buy industrial copies that do not contribute to the real art world. If you need cheap, beautiful art - hang your children's art! Tip: Local schools/colleges have annual contest with some beautiful art for sale - find that. Do not buy so-called Art that was mass -produced in a factory. Think about it. Theme? It varies. Mostly, I try to reflect Independence from industry. Escaping from behind someone else's dream to create my own. It is an easy theme. It is the anti-workaholic aproach to life. Not laziness,... just self-gratification. I try to express my beliefs entangled in aesthetic values.
